For those less adventurous there are opportunities to catch up with that most iconic of Scotland’s creatures up close - the beloved Highland Cow, of which there are small herds here and there dotted around the island.
There are also opportunities for water sports such as surfing and kayaking, and organised boat trips and sea expeditions around the Islands are provided by various maritime groups, including fishing and trips out to St. Kilda.
